Description
Originally from Peru, this is a very fruitful variety with an excellent fruity aroma, reminiscent of the aroma of habaneros. The plants of this variety measure approximately one meter and its fruits measure between 1 and 12 cm. This species is cultivated on the coast, in the mountains and in the Amazon up to 1,500 meters above sea level, in areas with a humid and warm climate, under temperatures ranging between 18 and 24 ºC. It has a very aromatic smell with a pronounced and pleasant spiciness. On the Scoville scale, its degree of pungency is between 15,000 and 30,000 SHUs. It usually has yellow, red, green, white and purple colors. This chili is basic in the preparation of Peruvian ceviche and tiradito.
